Life Scout Taylor Magone, 15, of Boy Scout Troop 436 in Port Orange supervises fellow Boy Scouts and volunteers in the creation of a kayak boat launch at the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach, Saturday, Dec. 15. Taylor is working toward receiving Eagle Scout rank by creating a pathway and boat slip for kayakers to access the Indian River Lagoon. Taylor has been planning the project for more than a year with more than 40 volunteers.
