Main Street Live Original Music & Art Festival hits the beachside in Daytona Beach Saturday.
The event hops from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. with more than 125 music acts, and 40 artists and vendors.
The event will be up and down Main Street, starting at A1A and continue to Peninsula Drive.
Portions of Main Street will be closed to traffic to create a block party environment. The event will host more than 10 inside and outside stages at various venues, including The Bank & Blues Club, Full Moon Saloon, Dirty Harry's, Froggy's Saloon, Mickey Luvs Bar & Grill, Main Street Station, Boot Hill Saloon and Crusin' Cafe.
The festival will feature a wide array of musical styles from mostly local and regional acts consisting of rock, jazz, blues, country, bluegrass, folk, metal and ska.
Other activities include a sidewalk chalk art contest, art displays consisting of paintings, photography, arts & crafts and handmade jewelry in addition to other various retail, promotional and food vendors. The festival also will include a kid's music and dance stage for all ages to participate in performances with some of the participating acts.
Discounted advanced tickets to obtain access to the stages that have a cover charge and to access the select art display areas are available online at www.ssa.cc or Atlantic Sounds in Daytona Beach, 138 W. International Speedway Blvd.; Steve's Downtown Music in DeLand, 108 S. Woodland Blvd.; and Cuchetti-Conti Family School of Music in New Smyrna Beach, 1125 N. Dixie Freeway-Pappas Plaza. Tickets are $10 advance or $15 at the gate. Children ages 12 and younger are admitted free.
Some stages are ages 21 and older only.
The event will be held rain or shine and is presented by the Songwriters Showcases of America, an organization that has been producing festival and concerts in the area since 1999, including the DeLand Original Music festival and Delandapalooza.
