The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery has announced its March exhibition and fundraiser.
"What a Difference a Day Makes" 24-hour art challenge, is a special exhibit of art, in which 24 artists will have a 24-hour period in which to create an artwork, based around a small set of prompts and guidelines to be revealed that day.
These 24 works will be sold in a unique way to raise money for Very Special Arts Brevard, a local organization committed to providing persons with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential through the arts.
The opening for What a Difference a Day Makes 24 Hour Art Challenge will be held on Friday, March 1, in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk. This reception is free and open to the general public.
While we are anticipating 24 artworks, based on the talents here in Brevard County, much of the focus will be on the creative process and why artists make art.
Thanks to the creative talents at Brandt Ronat & Company, there will be a videotaping of a portion of each participating artist's workday to share that experience with the audience.
This documentary film about the project will be screened during the film premiere at the Eau Gallie Civic Center on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.
A gala reception follows at 7:30 p.m. at Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, where ticket-holders will select the artwork and enjoy complimentary light refreshments.
Local artists participating in the 24-hour challenge include painters, clay sculptors, collage artists and photographers
