Holy week concert planned
The Chancel Choir of Coronado Community United Methodist Church will present a Holy Week concert at 7 p.m., Maundy Thursday, March 28, with a performance of the cantata "At the Ninth Hour."
The community is invited to attend the concert, which will be in the church's sanctuary, 201 S. Peninsula Avenue, New Smyrna Beach. Parking is available on Columbus Avenue.
Holy Communion will be offered during the presentation.
"At the Ninth Hour" was composed by Allen Pote and Tom Long. The cantata, based on the Gospel of Mark, traces the events of Holy Week from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified.
The concert is free, but an offering will be taken in support of Coronado Church's ministries.
