MARTIN COUNTY - The Michael Shield Memorial Inshore Fishing tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's Palm City branch was Sept. 25-26 at River Palms Cottages and Fish Camp.

Proceeds benefitted the after-school and summer youth development programs for children in Palm City.

"We are so grateful to the volunteers who made this fun and exciting event possible," said Anne McCormick, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County.

"Our club members loved participating in the kids' fishing clinic, and they'll truly appreciate the programs this tournament will support throughout the entire year."

The presenting sponsor for the tournament was John Pierson's Toyota of Stuart, and the hosting sponsor was River Palm Cottages.
