James Winton Hathaway

James Winton Hathaway, 90, of New Smyrna Beach, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Fairgreen Assisted Living, New Smyrna Beach.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Hathaway served in the U.S. Army as an artillery captain, was a retired utilities technician, member of Westminster-By-The-Sea Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach, and a member of Bell Laboratories Association.

Survivors include his sister, Anne McGlamery, of Sacramento, Calif.; his brother, William S. Hathaway and his wife, Lucille, of New Smyrna Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Hathaway was held Thursday, Oct. 22, at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery, Edgewater, with The Rev. George Painter officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Settle-Wilder Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 406 S. Orange St., New Smyrna Beach.
