ST. LUCIE COUNTY -
The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County in partnership with Outback Steakhouse will be hosting the 2012 Steak & Stake, an event that allows participants to enjoy steak dinners while taking a stake in a child's life.
The event will be held Oct. 6 at Tradition Town Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
Event co-chairs, Tara Turner and Will Armstead, along with their dedicated committee, are busy planning "Light Up The Night" a semi-formal evening complete with a steak dinner, provided by Outback Steakhouse, a live auction, entertainment and dancing.
"Our partnership with Outback Steakhouse is a win/win for our club and our kids," said Norm Penner, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County
"The Steak & Stake dinner, sponsored by Outback, is a very successful fundraiser for our club. It's also the one event where the kids 'Light Up The Night' and entertain the guests. The children enjoy the experience of sitting at the table with community leaders and trying out their new etiquette skills and table manners. It's a memorable experience for club members and our guests."
Sponsors Publix Super Market Charities, Professional Firefighters & Paramedics of St. Lucie County I.A.F.F. L 1377, St. Lucie County Fair Association, St. Lucie Mets, Windsor Imaging and many others are already saving their appetites for the big event, as are the special guests of the event, the Boys & Girls Club members, many of whom will get their first taste of Outback Steakhouse.
