Tucked into the Publix plaza in Jensen Beach by the downtown roundabout is a small gem of a breakfast nook that even most Jensen natives don't know is there.
The New England Coffee House has been serving up fairly priced breakfast and lunch for almost 19 years now with no signs of slowing down.
Although the menu may appear small, don't be fooled. If you peruse the walls of the small nook you'll find additional items not included in the menu.
A morning at The New England Coffee House is comparable to stepping into a scene on the television sitcom "Cheers." In the hour I was there, about four regulars walked in and were greeted by name. It created a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
Egg dishes are served with a choice of home fries, French fries or grits and toast. Eggs are served whichever way the customer likes. The eggs over easy were cooked to perfection.
The coffee was hot and it appeared that every customer was treated with first class service. Glasses and cups were constantly topped off and requests were served with a smile.
Restaurant hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
