The Hands Touch-A-Truck event will take place Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Youngsters will be able to look at dozens of trucks of all shapes, sizes and functions, and will also be allowed to climb on and explore them.
The parking lots of the Hands Clinic, at 3855 South U.S. 1, will be transformed into a playground for the event that day.
In addition to the truck lineup, there will be many other activities such as free face painting and kid's tattoos, a basket raffle with prizes, a food court and live music from the Treasure Coast's area teenage bands.
The event is a presentation of the Hands Clinic of St Lucie County. Proceeds will benefit the clinic, which has been struggling to cope with a recent increase of patients, and faces even more drastic reductions in funding with the proposed the current economy.
Admission for Touch -A-Truck will be a suggested donation of $5 per person or new pediatric dental supplies. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Hands Touch-A-Truck organizers are seeking sponsors and volunteers.
Big rig sponsorships are offered at $5,000 and up. Armored truck sponsor is from $1,000 and up. Fire truck level sponsorship is from $500 to $999. Dump truck level sponsors are from $250 to $499. Rescue truck level sponsors are from $100 to $249. Monster truck level sponsors are from $25-$99.
