Deltona City Council District 4: Tom Premo
Rating: 2.77 / 5 (26 votes)
Posted: 2012 Oct 12 - 00:22

Tom Premo, 46

Deltona

Owner/operator of Amazing Glaze Refinishing Inc. Challenger

Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?

A. Right now water rates are the top complaint of our residents. We have endured a 17.25 percent rate increase for the past 4 years, soon to be 5 years, which will total just under a 125 percent increase. This during the toughest economic years many people have seen in their lives.

Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?

A. As a business owner and a leader in my church and community, I have a pro-active attitude and work well with others. The life experience I gained raising my family in Deltona and starting my business enable me to be in touch with the citizens and the struggles we all encounter.

Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?

A. As a resident/candidate I see many issues facing Deltona - one of the biggest is civic pride. If we can improve how the residents feel about where they live and what the leadership is doing, then many other issues will follow suit - business growth, property values and code enforcement.

Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?

A. As a man of faith, I have always had a passion for helping people, so I plan to stay involved in our community regardless of the outcome. I know that God has called me to run at this time and whether I win or lose it's up to Him.
