Joshua J. Wagner, 35
Unincorporated Volusia County
Attorney and business owner
Incumbent
Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?
A. Definitely economic development, which I will tackle by continuing to reduce property taxes; supporting tourism, the E-Zone and Ocean Center; continuing to find efficiencies in government; speeding up processes (i.e. permitting); supporting our local companies with a local preference ordinance; and promoting the airport and our local colleges and universities.
Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?
A. My many years of experience as a local business owner and attorney combined with four years of experience as the present District 2 representative, gives me the skill set needed to continue to effectively and efficiently manage the taxpayers dollars.
Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?
A. I have voted every year to reduce property taxes. This has saved the taxpayers more than $74 million in the last four years. I will continue to work to find efficiencies to further reduce the budget without negatively affecting our quality of life and the services we provide.
Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?
A. I like to think positively, so losing is not an option.
