Business professionals to find perfect match at annual event
By Chris Fish
BREVARD - More than 100 business professional will be participating in a "speed-dating" scenario to help find their perfect business match on Tuesday, Oct. 30, during an event called Mega Marketplace.
Mega Marketplace, hosted by the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce, provides the opportunity for business and community-based professionals to present their products and services to every participant in attendance in a speed-dating format, in which attendees spend several minutes with other business professionals.
Melissa Byron, CEO of The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce, said, from noon to 4 p.m. at Holiday Inn Express & Space Coast Convention Center, Mega Marketplace will provide an effective way to meet new and diverse contacts in several fields of business.
"It's speed-dating and networking for businesses," Ms. Byron said. "We are hoping to expose a whole lot of businesses to natural partners. A landscaper can look for a commercial business that can utilize his or her skills, and a law firm that is looking for a business that may need legal assistance (can benefit from the event)."
Ms. Byron said the event has taken place for more than 15 years, and it serves as an effective sales tool for representatives to spread the message of their business.
Everyone in attendance will receive a printout of all participants, which they can use for follow-up correspondence if they choose.
After-hours networking opportunities will be available at 5 p.m.
The motivational guest speaker for the event will be Nancy Mathew, international speaker, author and business success strategist.
The major sponsors for the event are AT&T, The Real Yellow Pages and Florida Power and Light.
The Cost to participate is $40 for any Brevard County Chamber member and $80 for potential members. Limited additional table display space is available for $40 for any Brevard County Chamber member or $100 for potential members.
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Both registration and prepayment are required to participate.
