FORT PIERCE - With the days getting shorter and the nights getting cooler, more people are taking part in all the fun festivals and happenings taking place in the county.
Local businesses, cities and nonprofits have been planning events for months that will keep residents of all ages busy in the coming days.
In Fort Pierce, the Treasure Coast Beer Fest will be held on Oct. 27 at the Fort Pierce City Hall parking garage.
This event, now in its fifth year, will feature more than 200 different American and international brews. Last year's event sold out and raised more than $11,000 for Beerworks Charitable Foundation, which helps events on the Treasure Coast.
This year's event will help the Vietnam Veterans Association of Vero Beach, the Florida Oceanographic Society in Stuart, Learn to Read St. Lucie County and the Treasure Coast Food Bank.
For not-so-spooky fun, the Westside Baptist Church is having a family fall festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 28. The public is invited and families are welcome.
The Treasure Coast Beer Fest will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 100 N. U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce. Cost is $35 at the event or $30 if purchased by Oct. 26. For more information, call (772) 205-9628.
