Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?
A. The biggest mayoral issue is to bring back accountability, transparency and lower our high property tax rate. Cut spending and right-size the government to meet the needs and services of the citizens and businesses. Return to a citizen friendly, business friendly atmosphere and fill the empty buildings on Ridgewood Avenue.
Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?
A. Knowledge of all governmental operations, including the budget. Elected commissioner eight years, mayor five years; president of the Volusia League of Cities; Volusia County League of Cities 2009 Elected Official of the Year. Volusia Mayoral representative on the Central Florida Congress of Regional Leaders. Service on city and county Boards;
Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?
A. Engage the public in a more transparent and effective, zero-based budget process to cut spending and lower our city taxes. We must build value into Holly Hill to have a lower tax rate that will encourage prospective businesses and citizens to move into and stay in Holly Hill.
Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?
A. As I have been in service to the people of Holly Hill for more than 15 years, my belief is once you are in sincere service to the people, for the people, you will always be naturally in service.
