Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?
We are now the second highest taxed county in Florida. We must make our county government more fiscally responsible, and to do this we will have to begin with zero-based budgeting, and reduce our spending on nonessentials Reducing our taxes will bring in businesses that will create the much needed jobs for our county.
Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?
A. I was a squad leader in the U.S. Army and led my soldiers into combat during the Persian Gulf War, where I received the Bronze Star For Valor. I was a small business owner in Seminole County, the broadband manager of a contract company that supplied Road Runner to Volusia County. I have a degree in education and law enforcement, and completed the U.S. Army Pre-Commissioned Officers Course.
Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?
A. I am the conservative in this race, so as I have stated in the first question, I will begin to look into our taxing system. There are alternatives to our system that do not burden the taxpayer. I will begin to address the issues I have been addressing during the campaign. Priority one though is to make Volusia a "Tax Reducing County Government" instead of a "Tax Producing Government."
Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?
A. Indeed. I will be the watch dog for our county citizens. We are supposed to be a government run by the governed and I will do what I can to make sure we are.
