FORT PIERCE - Those interested in an exciting, fast-paced career in the world of culinary arts will want to consider the Indian River State College culinary operations apprenticeship program, which is now accepting students.
This program offers students the opportunity to work under well-educated and experienced chefs in the industry, while taking college classes toward various certification levels that will help them advance in culinary careers.
Students learn through hands-on work experience, classroom lectures, demonstrations, field trips and more. Students have the opportunity to gain national industry certification in sanitation and safety (ServSafeŽ), nutrition, cost control and supervision.
Through a partnership with the American Culinary Federation, the program offers available tuition-free training, so not only can students avoid spending money on cooking school, students are working and earning money while attending classes.
Upon program completion, students can earn the designation of certified culinarian through the American Culinary Federation.
