The fifth annual Steak & Stake dinner and auction benefiting Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County was a successful event that brought in more than $30,000.
Guests met club members, enjoyed a dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse and bid on a multitude of auction items.
Event co-chairs, Tara Turner and Will Armstead and their committee, along with keynote speaker, London Reeves, director for the Boys & Girls Club Chuck Hill Unit and a former club member, put on a one-of-kind event.
More than 200 guests and club members enjoyed an Outback Steakhouse dinner complete with cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert.
"The generosity of the sponsors, coupled with the guests from the community, and the illuminated faces of our club kids, made this a truly memorable event," said Norm Penner, executive director.
"Outback Steakhouse went above and beyond with their food, service and smiles."
Entertainment was provided by the Infinity Teen Center drum line and the Mac Mascioli Unit ShowTyme Steppers.
This year's sponsor's included, Outback Steakhouse, Publix Super Market Charities, HCA, Windsor Imaging, Seacoast National Bank, The Professional Firefighters and Paramedics of St. Lucie County I.A.F.F. - L. 1377, the St. Lucie Mets and many more generous companies.
The dinner brought in more than $30,000 thanks to the generosity of the corporate sponsors and guests. These funds will be used to support programs that benefit the 3,000 local children who participate in the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County every year.
The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the youth of the community.
