For the second time in a row, United for Families' national accreditation was renewed in an expedited fashion that ranks the nonprofit organization among elite social service organizations on the Treasure Coast and throughout the nation.
The international Council on Accreditation announced this month its decision to renew its accreditation of United for Families, bringing to close a year-long process of self-study and outside evaluation.
"COA's program of quality improvement is designed to identify providers that have met high performance standards and have made a commitment to their stakeholders to deliver the very best quality services," said Richard Klarberg, COA president and CEO.
"COA is proud to recognize United for Families as one of these outstanding providers, and we wish you the very best in your continuing work with the individuals you serve."
Receiving expedited re-accreditation means United for Families was found in compliance in 100 percent of evaluation areas.
That is especially important for an organization such as United for Families, because of the great responsibility it has to support children and families who are in crisis or have unmet needs.
Accreditation is an objective and reliable verification that provides confidence and support to an organization's service recipients, board members, staff and community partners, said Nicola Smith, who led United for Families renewal efforts.
The process involves a detailed review and analysis of both an organization's administrative operations and its service delivery practices.
United for Families began the initial accreditation process in 2007 and received accreditation in 2008.
