Spruce Creek Band finishes season with superior ratings
The Spruce Creek High School Marching Band completed its marching season with all superior ratings and "A"s in all categories of music performance, marching and general effect.
The last competition took place on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.
A week earlier, the marching band also took second place overall in the Colonial Marching Contest in Orlando.
It was awarded Superior with Distinction in Music Performance and Color Guard Performance. It was awarded a Superior Rating in Marching Drill and Percussion Performance. The band placed second in its division and second place overall.
The next performance of the Creek Marching Band will be leading the Port Orange Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 2. The band is raising funds for their upcoming tour of Ireland to perform in the Dublin St, Patrick's Day Parade on March 17.
